Maybe it looks different in the proposed standard.  Mine says

      | integer-1                      |
   (  <	data-name-2  [+/- integer-2 ]  > ... )
      | index-name-1 [+/- integer-3 ]  |

And it's pretty unlikely that I would have written anything at
