I have multiple computers (home and work) and one palm that I would like
to sync in both places.  I cannot do this with the windows software as
the palm os hotsync platform/sequence thinks that the palm is a new one
if it is sync'd with another windows computer.

It sounds like a bug.

It's because the palm desktop software does a load of setting up of the pilot itself, including the IP address of the primary PC for NetSync'ing. You can do it, but it is really dangerous from a data point of view. I think there is an FAQ on the palm site about moving your pilot to a new PC, and then you set the old PC to update from Palm to Desktop only.
