	I've just tried it, with mixed success. I added the following
entries to /etc/ttys:

cuaa2  "/path/to/coldsync -md -t serial -dsync:5 -l /junk/coldsync.debug"       unknown on
ptypv  "/path/to/coldsync -md -t serial -dsync:5 -l /junk/coldsync.debug"       unknown on

	/dev/ptypv is a loopback tty, used by XCopilot emulating a
Palm III. This worked fine.
	/dev/cuaa2 with a real Palm m500 failed, because the Palm
suggested a speed of 230400 bps for the sync, but the serial port
can't handle that speed. This is now considered a bug.
