lsmod cant show it; its compiled in. yes, using usbserial.

um oddity. in 2.2.16, i had /dev/visor as a symlink to /dev/ttyUSB0 and
coldsync worked just fine. i will try moving the link and we'll see what
happens.

right. i've had coldsync working before the rebuild. and i've been working
with linux for a few years, just so we understand each other here (aka i
rtfm a million times first and what not :)
on hotsync button press, i get the standard syslog messages:
Apr 21 16:46:56 katerina kernel: visor.c: Handspring Visor: port 1, is for Generic use and is bound to ttyUSB0
Apr 21 16:46:56 katerina kernel: visor.c: Handspring Visor: port 2, is for HotSync use and is bound to ttyUSB1
Apr 21 16:46:56 katerina kernel: usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter now attached to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs)
Apr 21 16:46:56 katerina kernel: usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter now attached to ttyUSB1 (or usb/tts/1 for devfs)
i run coldsync. coldsync does nothing. upping debug level, coldsync
detects an active device but doesnt seem to be able to do much else. she
just sits and spins. this is all with the link to /dev/ttyUSB0, btw.
i'll go try moving the link and see what happens.
