Re: [coldsync-hackers] visor/USB & FreeBSD update

Hello, there. I'm newbie here and just struggling against syncing my
Visor Prism with a 4.3-BETA FreeBSD box.

I also had failed to use coldsync-1.4 and coldsync-2.0.0-20010312. I
got same error messages as James and Akira said. I had tried to run
coldsync from the command line about 20 times or so, and got just one
success. (but at least one success!)

After that, I subscribed this mailing list and inspired by James.
Now I can get fairly good score to sync with USB. The way is:

1) kill usbd (by root)
2) run coldsync from the command line by your own account
3) press the hostsync button on the cradle
4) just wait for 5 to 10 seconds and pray :)
5) run usbd again (by root)
6) it works!

Note that no modification of usbd.conf is required.
This method almost works for me, even though sometimes it fails.
I'm afraid there should exist some nasty timing problem.

Hope this helps.
