Thank you for your mail, and I must apologize for lack of information.
I've edited my ~/.coldsyncrc just as you described,
and executed the coldsync as shown below:
% coldsync -mI
Please press the HotSync button.
Then, I've hit the HotSync button on the cradle,
and my FreeBSD box (4.2-RELEASE) said that
my Visor Platinum is connected to /dev/ugen0.

ugen0: at uhub0 port 1 (addr 3) disconnected
But after few seconds, coldsync will fail, and it will show
a message as shown below.

OK. I've executed the coldsync as:
% coldsync -mI -dsync:5 -dmisc:5
