Re: gnubol: What is the Status of the GNU-Cobol project
Jim,
There is no work going on with GNU Cobol2C. The currently active
projects (ie new source in the past month) are
* Tiny Cobol (at http://www.sourceforge.com)
* Cobol for GCC (http://www.geocities.com/timjosling/cobol.html)
Which will be ready first? Well as of the last few days we are
formally sharing code, and over time they may merge completely so
that may not be a valid question. Other than that it is hard to
predicts when something usable may be available. Possibly in
12-18 months, depending on how many people write code, etc.
If yove a look at the last few days' archives of either group you
can see the discussions on sharing.
If you are interested in helping you are welcome to do so; please
let me know
