Actually, the Adobe reader FAQ
(http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/pdfs/palm_faq.pdf) says that it read
PDF's on cards. It's not clear, however, whether or not it can read PDF's
that haven't been "downgraded" for use on a PDA or what the consequences of
reading an unconverted file might be... I suspect that trying to open an
8MB PDF containing nothing but scanned court documents might hurt.

The usual way, and in a different country.
The DMCA has limited applicability outside of the USA and coldsync-hackers
does have a strong international following. I'd be suprised if the
Russians, for example, would be terribly concerned about Adobe and the
DMCA.
