I like the ssh idea! A conduit could save some
"cookie" data (like the ssh public key) in "Saved
Preferences" and coldsync would automatically provide
that to the sync conduit via "pref: sshkey/1;" (or
something like that). Good idea.

Oh yeah, that happened when my handheld lost all power
and I forgot to restore the user name and id. I guess
I wouldn't allow my id to be changed after all.
