I think I had a flash of inspiration on the weekend.
We have been talking about syncing the categories for the Palm apps as part
of the generic conduit - I think no!
Here's why:
If we don't sync the categories, I can use the copy-appinfo conduit to get
new categories from the Palm. I can then read these categories from the PDB
file
This allows me to set my conduit to sync the items between the Palm and the
server app for the categories that are listed in the Palm ... it also means
that the Palm itself controls what is synced and I don't have to create a
separate hotsync setup program.
The user just adds a category in the Palm; if it exists in the server app,
it is synced, if it doesn't exist in the server app, it is created
I don't think I could ask for an easier system for the users to control!
I can think of scenarios that categoiry syncing would be prefered, but I put
my vote in to keep it a separate conduit and not build it into the generic
conduit
