The source is freely available :)
I did talk with someone a while ago about getting support for the 4.0 OS
devices into one of the BSDs, but never heard how it went.  I am glad to
help out with any questions about the visor driver that anyone might
have.

A patch for coldsync to use libusb was posted here a while ago.  That
might enable your device to work, as libusb works on both *BSD and
Linux.

Correct, the protocol is quite different.  But coldsync handles it just
fine if you tell it that it is a 'simple' or 'net' device.
