The obvious interpretation of this is that ColdSync doesn't
like the Swiss railroad system, but I'm sure I'd never have put in
anything like this intentionally.

In both cases, I suspect what's happening is that data is
being dropped on the way to and from the Palm. As far as I can tell,
this is a problem with Linux. I've thought of a workaround to add to
the code, but it's going to take some effort to add it.
I suggest that you try again, and hope that the gods of
communication will smile on you. Sorry.
You can also try setting a slower speed. I'm not sure this
will help, but it might.
