[coldsync-hackers] communication problem

I'm a linux programmer and interested in the project, but I'm having
problems getting started.  My Palm IIIxe won't communicate with my Linux
box at all (via coldsync or pilot-link).  I know the serial port
functions...I tested with a modem.  The Palm syncs with Windows machines
fine.  I'm running kernel 2.2.16-22smp.

The only thing I could think to try was cat /dev/palm and push the hotsync
button.  There was no output at all.

The IIIxe is PalmOS 3.5

Any help is appreciated, the karma will be returned two fold.
