The syntax escape would basically be intended to ease the task of coding the 
grammar rules. If could work in the situations to which you refer only if 
upon return from the place that is 'invoked' by inderiect pointers a 
conventionalized way of returning the result is established as design spec.

It can be done. We just need to know the brief list of all results types to 
be produced by FUNCTIONS.
