Hi Guys,
Having failed to improve get my own system due to work pressure, (and
not even having the time to faultfind a recent problem I still haven't
fixed), I was wondering it there is anyone who would be interested in
either being funded, or at least part funded, in writing two coldsync
sync conduits (not fetch/dump).
I would be happy for this code to become part of the coldsync package,
released under the GPL, and any takers are welcome to the half written
semi-generic sync conduit I was trying to write which was using a table
in MySQL. I did quite a bit of groundwork and had ground to a halt
trying to pack records for the palm.
One conduit would synchronise with an LDAP server, preferably over TLS
(but that is built into the LDAP perl module anyway) using the
inetOrgPerson schema as the main objectClass (We need to stay away from
any custom or uncommon schemas because the LDAP system is used by many
other applications including email, fax machine and telephones, which is
the whole reason). We currently use an export from the MySQL database to
LDAP which is also shareable.
The second conduit would sync to an iCal system, so that the data can
also be accessed via an iCal application such as Mozilla Sunbird. I
would like the iCal files to be able to be located on a remote machine,
but that might not be possible.
Is anyone out there interested?
Regards,
Marco.
