Re: [coldsync-hackers] Python conduits
I've looked at pilot-link before, but it seemed there Python support is
somewhat outdated. If I understand correctly (according to
bindings/Python/README in the pilot-link-0.11.8 source), they don't even
have the bindings to database access, and the "pure-Python prc/pdb
access library" they promised was coming soon in June 2001. I'm relying
on the source distribution here, I haven't followed the mailing list so
if things are looking better now I'd like to hear it!
If these bindings turn out to be usable *now*, of course I wouldn't need
to redo them in Python.

I wondered if there is still interest in writing conduits with Python.
I've seen it mentioned a few times, but since there has never been a
real follow up I decided to start writing my own set of libraries.
Parts of it (the ColdSync interface and parsing Address/Contacts
databases) are starting to be usefull, so if anyone wants to
use/test/co-develop this further, please let me know!
Python code for all of this has existed in pilot-link for several
years now. Have you looked at contributing to that project instead?
