Last I checked, having /etc/palms was considered a feature (it then runs coldsync
as the user that matches the Palm to avoid security breaches)
You can have mutiple palms syncing ... just add the relevant details to /etc/palms
and /etc/coldsyncrc or the new user's ~/.coldsyncrc
