Re: [coldsync-hackers] Sharp Zaurus SL-5500

When last we left our heros, they were speaking of:

I've pondered this question some myself - I've got a Zaurus, and the
appeal of using coldsync conduits is strong; however, the Sync mechanisms are
totally different, as are the data formats.
The Z acts as a network host connected to your local machine, and
Syncing (if one were to do it manually) actually involves ftping into the
Z from your local machine, grabbing the XML files containing the records for
the various applications, and then doing the right things with them...which
is pretty much entirely unlike syncing a Palm. Far easier to develop for,
IMHO, but different than most of what's currently out there.
As far as the Z running PalmOS, no, not really possible, though
somebody did port the PalmOS Emulator to the Zaurus, so in a way you _can_
run PalmOS on your Z. But you wouldn't want to do that for any extended
period of time. :-/
