[coldsync-hackers] Failure to sync on Linux/2.4.19

Dear All

Am using Debian 3.0r0 and coldsync 2.3.1. I am unable to hotsync with
my Palm m515. I have checked the configuration of usbmgr and added
the following lines to /etc/usbmgr/usbmgr.conf:-
-------------------------------------------------------------
# Palm [m515]
vendor 0x830 product 0x003 module usbserial , visor
-------------------------------------------------------------
Running coldsync from the command line produces:-
---------------
~> coldsync -d PDB:9:SYNC:6:PARSE:9:IO:9:MISC:9:CONDUIT:9
Warning: no device on /dev/palm. Sleeping
Warning: no device on /dev/palm. Sleeping
Please press the HotSync button.
##### Bad response ID: expected 0x92, got 0x93.
Error: Can't get system info.
##### Bad response ID: expected 0x90, got 0x92.
Error: Can't get user info.
Error: This Palm has user ID 10639 (I was expecting 1000).
Syncing would most likely destroy valuable data. Please update your
configuration file and/or initialize this Palm (with 'coldsync -mI')
before proceeding.
Your configuration file should contain a PDA block that looks
something like this:
##### Bad response ID: expected 0x92, got 0x90.
Error: Can't get system info.
Segmentation fault

Here is the entry for /dev/palm and /dev/ttyUSB1

I should be grateful if someone could point me in the right
direction. I shall go to the home web-site asap to get the latest
version. Perhaps even the CVS version. Any recommendations?
