If you mean the palm record ID - yes you have to iterate through the pdb to find the
maximum value and then add one to it
You don't need to know the record id if you aren't doing something fancy
eg you don't need it to add a new record but I need to know it because I add a
record to a PostgreSQL database table to link the Palm record to a PostgreSQL
database record
