UVISOR(4) OpenBSD Programmer's Manual UVISOR(4)
NAME
uvisor - USB support for the Handspring Visor
SYNOPSIS
uvisor* at uhub?
ucom* at uvisor?
DESCRIPTION
The uvisor driver provides support for the Handspring Visor, a Palmpilot
compatible PDA.
The device is accessed through the ucom(4) driver which makes it behave
like a tty(4). The usual Pilot tools can be used to access the Visor.
SEE ALSO
tty(4), ucom(4), usb(4)
HISTORY
The uvisor driver appeared in NetBSD 1.5. OpenBSD support was added in
OpenBSD 2.8.
OpenBSD 3.1 March 10, 2000 1
That driver is in the GENERIC kernel, IIRC.
No, this particular machine has no Visor attached, so I can't tell you
if it really works. A Problem might arise depending on your PDA-Model.
My Visor Edge connects to the US-Bus only after pushing the Hotsync
button. And the kernel connects /dev/ucom* to the proper driver. When
you invoke coldsync from the command line there is no /dev/ucom* at that
moment and it bails out. OpenBSD has no usbd, which would solve that
problem.
