You need to add a record in this category - then it does the trick.
But there is a flaw in logic - if you do the following:
1) Add category and do sync
2) Add record in this category and do sync - record is synced with undefined
category, reason being -  appinfo block is NOT updated.

I don't think app-info conduit not required at all, but app-info blck must
be copied every time.
