Thank you for everyone's help.  Solved the sync problems, got the kab-dump 
conduit working and imported the data into kab.  One point worth noting 
(perhaps even on the web page), the kab-dump script formats the data in kab 
v1 format.  The current version of kab is 2.0 and the formats between 1 and 2 
are different.  There is an import option under the file menu for importing a 
1.0 version file.
