If this is the main problem, I can offer you to put a patch on a web
server located in Germany. We don't have anything compareable to the
DMCA here (yet).

Has anyone already tried to negotiate with Palm to officially use this
mechanism for Linux software? Or are they Just Another Company Who
Denies Linux?

For any really sensitive data on your Palm, I recommend software like
Secret! ( http://www.linkesoft.com/english/secret/ ) anyhow.
