the point is that at some point you stop just hacking on things and
actually do something right from the ground up.
Linux WAS a hacked version of minix. it is that no longer. it is its own
software.
EMACS WAS a hacked version of TECO. now its sentient.
a further point is credit where credit is due. if all i did was change a
few lines in someone else's conduit and then call it mine, that's hardly
nice or ethical. yeah yeah open source nonsense but at some point
cargo-culting has to stop and we have to become real programmers, dont you
think?
