remember making huge changes in the serial code.

	I assume you mean "xntp", yes? Synchronizing time over NNTP is
just very, very wrong:

	Client: What time is it?
	Poster 1: Read the FAQ.
	Poster 2: Depends on where you're located. Are you in Australia?
	Poster 3: Didn't this get discussed to death, like, a month ago?
	Poster 4: You know, the Nazis made the trains run on time.
	Poster 2: Godwin!
